Human beings form their strongest connections with fellow Frontman beings not with brand names, logos or mascots that are wildly wacky. A catchy name for your business or an appealing logo for your company won’t make the same kind of connection with two persons: yourself and your client. It’s the reason it’s so important to make it a priority, especially when you’re setting up a small-sized business, to establish yourself as”the “face” of your own business to establish a connection with your customers.

Consider the famous bands that have made a mark on the world. What are the things you remember about each one of them? If you’re a musician then you may think of the extraordinary talent that every member of the band had. However, if you’re an average fan, you’re likely to be able to recall the member who served as the frontman of the group – The frontman (or frontwoman) in the world of music. It was the Rolling Stones had Jagger, Kiss had Gene Simmons, and The Beatles had Gene Simmons. Beatles were led by Gene Simmons … Well did they have was it Paul and/or John?

If you’re just starting out your own business and trying to establish your brand, you’ll not have much recognition to draw upon, and people make a choice about whether or not they want to do business with them based on their impression of your business.

This applies to both digital and the physical worlds. Your brand must be present across all the digital media platforms that are relevant and you must be doing the same. It is easier for people interact with an interesting person who they’ve never seen than with a brand they’ve never seen or heard of. This type of interaction can result in discussions about your business which could bring opportunities you would not find otherwise.

Here are five suggestions to help you become”the face” (or the frontwoman) your company needs “on stage”:

    1. Create a profile for yourself on LinkedIn to draw attention to the company you’re building rather than trying to expand your network. Post blog posts from your company in status updates as well as in specific groups to bring relevant traffic to your site.
    2. With the account, your personal G+ profile, you can participate in online communities and start or join in conversations that could be relevant to the work your business is doing.
    3. Utilize the individual Twitter account to tweet certain content that your company’s Twitter account is sharing. You are welcome to retweet yourself occasionally to introduce people to your brand but in an unintentionally way.
    4. Write guest blog posts or articles for relevant websites web sites, blogs, or publications which will be of real worth to your customers. If readers read your writing and discover that you are knowledgeable about what you’re talking about and are eager to do business with you.
    5. Take a break of your laptop. It might seem that you’re able to accomplish more when you’re in front of a computer but there’s a distinct difference in making progress versus being busy. Make time to meet with potential clients. Give them some ideas or suggestions to share your knowledge and make them feel more enthusiastic about doing transactions with your company. Personal connections are more likely to bring recommendations than any other digital connection.

As your business grows and your brand is more well-known it will be possible to take a step back and appreciate what you’ve created. In the meantime, it’s your responsibility to take the mic and put on a amazing spectacle. You came up with the idea to create the business, and potential customers want to know, from you, the reasons why it was such a brilliant idea in the first place.Frontman
