Thirty five years after it was founded as a company Levenger with just one item on its shelves, Levenger is marking its development into a major maker of tools that are designed to be useful and attractive. From elegant writing instruments to furniture for offices and homes along with accessories Levenger has become one of most popular brands for living.
“Levenger’s growth isn’t difficult for you to comprehend,” said Steve Leveen whom co-founded the company along with his wife Lori Leveen, in 1987. “We took note of our customers and they were telling us that they did not just want tools to improve their productivity. They needed well-designed products that would assist them in their work and unleash their creative side.”
The first step was taking a deep breath and listening first. After struggling for a long time to find a decent reading lamp for their new house and realized that others may be facing the same issue. They saved every dollar they could, and then founded Levenger (a blend that is a combination of Leveen and Granger the name Lori’s maiden name) and set about creating the brand new company by constructing a light powered by then-innovative technology known as halogen.
Levenger faced difficulties as an company before the Leveens took out an advertisement on The New Yorker that read, “Serious Lighting for Serious Readers.” The ad was precisely the kind of market they sought that was educated and upscale readership that had not been fulfilled.
Since since then, Levenger has enjoyed remarkable growth and numerous achievements including being named as number 8 of America’s fastest-growing privately owned companies in Inc. magazine following the move of the headquarters of its company to South Florida and expanding its product range. In November of 2020, Levenger appointed its first female CEO, Margaret Moraskie, who took on a number of strategic initiatives to ensure Levenger’s ongoing growth. In Oct, Levenger kicked off the start in its digital transformation strategy by unveiling its new website and a full ERP (ERP) replacement, which will connect Levenger’s internal systems and prepare it to grow further.
“It’s essential to change,” said Margaret Moraskie, “We sell heritage technologies and products built to last for a long time, however, we are aware that by blending our values of quality and innovation with the latest technology, we are able to provide the most satisfying experience to our beloved customers.”
Levenger is an ode to innovation and accomplishment with its diverse collection to the Steve Leveen’s website, “Well-Read” Life(tm), Levenger provides affordable luxury that can be a part of everyday life by providing well-designed ergonomics and aesthetics. After 35 years of development but one thing is for sure the same – each decision Levenger takes starts and finishes with the client.
“The happiness of our customers is our top priority,” said Steve Leveen. “We believe in creating an enduring legacy of excellence and quality with our unwavering commitment toward the needs of our customers.”
“We’re extremely proud of the work our Levenger team has accomplished with the help of a community who share our passion for words,” added Lori Leveen.
