The time that the show’s fourth season 4 brought in Peter Ballard, it was playing the unassuming role of Eleven’s only friend at Hawkins Lab. Papa noticed the increase in her power, and punished Ballard that she observed when she was taking advantage of her free moment inside the Rainbow Room. Ballard was later seen plotting with Eleven to escape with Eleven she told her Papa was not going to assist her in the event that her siblings attacked her. He declared that Papa was actually encouraging to take her down, and he wanted to assist her get away to safe haven. After handing her ID card, and convincing her to take off the chip that was suffocating his power, the truth of Ballard’s motives became evident.
After Ballard employed his powers to murder almost all the people in the lab including the other kids, Eleven confronted him for lying to her. He said he was a liar and disliked humanity and wanted to eliminate every piece of it. And he desired Eleven to share her power in order to complete this mission. Eleven said no because she didn’t want to become the one to destroy.

Nancy who is trapped inside The Upside Down, finds herself wandering through Vecna’s past and uncovering a shocking truth about who he really is. In the meantime, Eleven is recovering her old memories of what happened to Peter Ballard that day at Hawkins Lab. Vecna recounts the story of an unruly young man named Henry Creel, the son of the convicted killer Victor Creel. Henry was a bit agitated by the cyclical nature of time and the human tendency to just move throughout life. When he stumbled upon the black widow spiders inside the family’s new house Henry became obsessed by their prey-like nature and wanted to be like them.
Henry was able to discover his Telekinetic powers and began to experiment with smaller animals around the backyard , as in addition to creating strange incidents in the family home. He realized that he could use his ability to delve into the memories of people and then use them to haunt and control his victims. Victor believed that these events were caused by the demon, however Henry’s mother Virginia was aware of her son’s role in the incident and decided to take Henry away for assistance. In the knowledge that he needed to silence his mother’s anger, Henry distracted his father during dinner, and killed his mother. He then killed the younger sibling Alice. Victor left the scene with a dead Henry who had injured himself through overuse of his abilities to kill. He was later told that Henry passed away.

When Ballard offered Eleven to come with his team, he pointed out that they were one. They could create the world a more perfect space by eliminating humanity. When Eleven was unable to join in with him and he refused to join him, he turned his strength towards her. He threw his victim around in the space, Eleven’s face was flashing in her vision as she was lifted up and began to twist her body and breaking bones. Awakened by her own sorrow and anger Eleven took on the challenge, repairing her own bones while gaining enough strength to throw Ballard through the wall of observation over the entire room. Then she destroyed Ballard into ashes, breaking his body. He was then entangled in the trough that was The Upside Down, which began to torture him and change his shape exactly the way Ballard had used his power to afflict and transform others. The

The tattoo was revealed to be 001 on his wrist, an alteration of his body and memories that was similar to the things he did to other people when was younger. How he developed and was able to carry on his plan to wipe humanity out through his perspective on the Upside Down remains a mystery and perhaps
