The Stranger things‘ Maya Hawke has spoken out about the wacky adventure that her role as Robin Buckley has been on.
Robin was first introduced on season three as Steve’s coworker in the ice cream shop Robin, who was revealed to be lesbian after he confessed his feelings for her. Her crush is revealed in the new season 4 episode 1 with a hot girl called Vickie.
In a discussion about how the show took the time to explore gay relationships, Maya Hawke told Variety: “A lot often gay characters today typically get to be homosexual without actually expressing it and they aren’t allowed to kiss anyone or let this be a central element in their narrative.
“Not to say that kisses aren’t happening during the season. There could or might not be kissing. There are, however, real emotions and a genuine story to be told and feels like an amazing move for Robin’s story.
“And it’s a great move for queer characters in sci-fi , which I’m extremely satisfied with.”
It’s more complex in determining the question of whether or not Will Byers might be gay or not because the show has implied that Will Byers is jealous of the growing love affair that is developing between Eleven and Mike as he could be attracted to one of them.
Mike actor Finn Wolfhard recently told us that Will was an “more attractive, romantic love” for Mike as well as Chief Hopper actor David Harbour said “Will is not at all interested in El. He’s looking at somebody else” which could mean the actor will be gay during the next episode in the series.
Stranger Things season 4 part 2 will air the 1st of July through Netflix.
Yes, those slo-mo images of Dacre Montgomery in the shorts certainly made everyone in the pool more wet than they were already but Billy is also a racial and a dick. It’s odd that the main attraction in this tale is also an episode’s more troublesome characters.
However, with just only one and a half seasons left and a half more to go, we shouldn’t be too surprised if future seasons from Stranger Things do become a bit more violent. In all likelihood Daddy Harbs is likely to be a bit stuffed with frustrated feelings after his prison sentence and, at the time we’re aware, Steve still hasn’t found his shirt at the end of the initial episode also.
